How Does cBackup's Restore Work?

Very well thank you.  No seriously, a restore operation in cBackup is very ease to do, simply log into the cSuite and go to the cBackup application.  Find & select the set of files to be restored, then set some options, and hit go. The system will do the rest.

Is there a charge for restoring files?

No, there is no charge for restoring files. You can restore as many files as you would like and as often as you like.

Can I view a backed up file without restoring it?

Yes. You can quickly view files and directories without restoring them. This works by saving the file to a temporary space on your hard drive and then opening the applicable program to view it. This option allows you to access files when you're not on a PC that has the cBackup agent installed.

If I restore a file, will it still be backed up?

Yes. Restoring a file does not affect its backup status. It will still be backed up and available to restore again at a later date.

How do I reinstall the cBackup after a system failure?

If you have had a system failure, and cBackup is no longer installed on your computer, you will need to download and install the cBackup PC agent again. This is something a Continuen Certified Partner can assist you with. Once the software is installed, you will be able to restore your backed up files. You will NOT have to re-setup your jobs/backup sets and the system will start backing up your files like nothing happened.

What happens if I lose my encryption key?

If you have had a system failure and you have to reinstall cBackup, the system will automatically download your Encryption Key.
