FAQ - Document Sharing

This page contains Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about document sharing in general, as well as specifics on how cDocuments works. If you can't find an answer to one of your questions here, please contact our customer support at support@continuen.com or call us at (321)960-9780.

What type of files can be stored on cDocuments?

You can store any type of files on cDocuments. You can select files from your local computer, network drives or files that are stored on cBackup.

How do I organize my documents stored on cDocuments?

You can organize your documents in folders and subfolders just like you do today with files on your computer.

How secure are my documents on cDocuments?

There are two types of documents that can reside in the cDocuments repository; user uploaded files, and cBackup archives. User uploaded files are only encrypted during transmission through the Internet, but are stored unencrypted. They are, however, secured through the use of user/group access rights. cBackup archives are both encrypted (because they're still backup archives) and secured through user/group access rights.

By assigning user/group access rights, you can determine who can view, edit, or delete documents. You can even designate no access, in which case they can't even see the document names.

How do I know if someone has viewed the files?

You can setup the system to send you an email notification when someone views, uploads, or deletes a document. You can also view an activity report to view this information. You decide.
